The Melissa Headband knitting pattern is a fun cable knit headband to keep you warm this winter. With a provisional cast on and grafting in pattern, it’s virtually seamless even though it’s knitted flat.
Initially, I knitted this headband as a Christmas present for my sister, Melissa, but I absolutely fell in love with it and knew I had to write the pattern down. The cables add interest, and with no bulky, ugly seam it really does look good. It’s a nice unisex headband that will keep your ears warm without giving you hat hair.
It requires 1 skein of worsted weight yarn (I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease), 1-2 yards of scrap yarn, size US 4 (3.5 mm) knitting needles, size US E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook, a cable needle, and a tapestry needle for grafting and weaving.
You can download this pattern for free here.
If you make this headband, I’d love to see your work. Please leave it in the comments below.
Happy knitting!
